Lynn Paslay: assistant superintendent at Lakeland: There is a Levy Vote on March 14 –please ask questions if you have concerns. It is the same levy amount as last time, it is called supplemental, but really fundamental—the state designs funding to rely on local funding/control. There is very limited other funding available—if it fails, extracurricular sports, etc, depends on the levy. This is ongoing, not additional. She urge peoples to vote, only 20% of school parents vote, and 50% of staff. Local control allows curricula\um to match local standards.
